Hello, Happy Dream Life is here. For those who are preparing for a vacation in Gangneung, South Korea and who are considering staying at a hotel, I will talk about the following hotels: Seamarq vs Skybay Hotel Gyeongpo vs Tops 10 Hotels & Resorts. 

 

SEAMARQ

Many Korean people go to Gangneung, Gangwon-do for domestic summer vacation. As KTX train goes to Gangneung station, there are naturally more tourists and many good hotels. Let's take a look at each of the hotels that many people consider a lot, starting with the Seamarq Hotel.

First of all, as you can see on the map above, the Seamarq hotel can be said to be relatively close to Gangneung station and is located near Gyeongpoho lake.

 

The exterior is quite neat and the scenery is nice.

 

This is the lobby. As you can see in the picture, it feels quite neat and luxurious.

 

It's pool. It's so nice as if I'm abroad.

 

Room

 

Rooms are composed of Premium Deluxe, Gallery Double, and Suite.

 

Premium Deluxe

 

Let's take a look at the premium deluxe first. The ocean view of the premium deluxe room, the lowest level at the Seamarq hotel, is really good. However, the price of hotel accommodation is so high that it is true that even if you try to sleep in the lowest-level room, the price is burdensome for ordinary people.

The room condition was quite clean and luxurious.

 

The bathroom is clean.

 

I think it's kind of weird that the bathtub is next to the bed.

This is the ocean view from my room. I think it's always good to see the sea.

 

Presidential Suite

 

Other room types are not much different from my personal opinion, so I'll go straight to the Presidential Suite.

Ho An Jae is a hanok that is really big, and this place is a place that foreigners and elderly people will like, so we will skip this.

The Presidential suite is really big, though in any hotel.

 

The bedroom is really luxurious, and the ocean view is really good.

 

 

 

 

 

I really like this bathroom.

 

 

 

 

 

Summary: At first, I was very surprised that there was such a good hotel in a region other than Seoul, South Korea. If you go there, you can see why people consider the Seamarq hotel when they visit and stay in Gangneung. There's nothing particularly flawless, so I'd like to give 5 points out of 5.

 

 

 

 

Skybay Hotel Gyeongpo

The Sky Bay Hotel Gyeongpo is also located near the Seamarq hotel and maintain 5 star. It is located near Gangneung Station and near Gyeongpoho Lake.

 

 

 

 

 

If you go to Gyeongpoho lake, there is a striking exterior, which is the Sky Bay Hotel Gyeongpo.

Room + HORIZON at 20 Dinner Buffet + Shell Factory Breakfast Buffet

 

In the case of rooms, they are composed of Deluxe, Executive, Junior Suite, Ambassador Suite, Royal Suite, Imperial Suite, and Presidential Suite.

 

Executive Twin Room

The Executive Twin Room is the same size as the Deluxe Room, but the difference is only offering an ocean view and is located on a slightly higher floor. Since the hotel is quite old, I felt that there were many signs of age throughout, and the room itself felt a little small.

 

 

 

Horizon at 20 Dinner Buffet

 

I had a dinner buffet at the Horizon Restaurant & Bar, which is located on the 20th floor. I was very disappointed that the buffet offered such limited variety and mediocre taste, especially considering its five-star rating and price. The quality felt similar to that of a typical wedding buffet.

 

 

 

Shell Factory Breakfast Buffet

 

The Shell Factory, located on the first floor, was also very disappointing, just like the dinner buffet we had at Horizon Restaurant & Bar.

 

 

 

Summary: Although it’s a five-star hotel, I felt it lacked the sense of luxury compared to the nearby Sea Mark Hotel. I was disappointed with the room size, breakfast, and dinner buffet, but considering its cost-effectiveness, I would rate it 3 out of 5.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tops 10 Hotels & Resorts

In the case of Tops 10 Hotels & Resorts, unlike the Seamarq hotel and Sky Bay Hotel Gyeongpo, which I introduced above, it can be seen that it is located in a remote place. The flaw is that transportation is inconvenient because it is far from Gangneung station.

 

Room

 

Rooms are composed of Deluxe, Korean ondol, and Suites.

Deluxe

 

In the case of Tops 10 Hotels & Resorts, it is far from luxury, is large in size, and is relatively inexpensive, so I felt strongly that it is a hotel that competes at a cost-effectiveness.

The bathroom was normal as you can see in the picture above.

The ocean view was good.

 

In the case of other room types, there is no significant differences other than the size, so we will end with this.

 

 

Summary: If you are looking for a quiet place and a hotel with good cost-effectiveness with a 4-star rating, I recommend Tops 10 Hotels & Resorts. I'd like to give 4 out of 5.
