Hong Kong & Macao

 

Hong Kong is one of my favorite cities. Since I like dim sum so much, I like Hong Kong because I can eat dim sum as much as I want. Hong Kong is a special administrative district. When you meet Hong Kong people in foreign countries and if you ask them, "Where are you from?" they say "From Hong Kong" and if you ask them again "Are you Chinese?," and there are people who respond sensitively. Mainland Chinese speak Mandarin Chinese; however, Hong Kong people speak Cantonese. In other words, Hong Kong is a city in China, but it's culturally and linguistically different. Moreover, Hong Kong has faced a lot of opposition when it was returned to China after the Opium War, becoming a British colony and making other economic development with China, and is still facing a lot of problems. 

Hong Kong is a financial hub that represents Asia along with Singapore. So many global financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs, or Asian headquarters, are located in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong is known for its night view. The night view of Hong Kong on the streets of Star is always so nice.

 

I'm in Macao. It's called the Eastern Las Vegas. As a result, Macao is often compared to Las Vegas. But I prefer Las Vegas to Macau. If Hong Kong was ruled by England, Macau was ruled by Portugal. Therefore, there are so much of Portugal's culture and language remained.

I wish their weather and the sea water were nice. But as you can see in the picture, the weather is cloudy and the sea water is dirty, so it was not good. This concludes the short Hong Kong and Macao visit review.

Summary: Hong Kong has a lot of food and the night view is really good. Since the tax is tax-free, if you like shopping, you will really like to travel to Hong Kong. In Macau, the feeling is similar to Las Vegas, but it has its own beauty that is mixed with Europe and the East. Personally, I'd like to give four out of five.
