BMW 8 Series

Hello, this is Happy Dream Life. I personally drove several cars including BMW 320 XI, Mercedes C300, Infinity G37, Porsche 911, and Porsche Panamera. It's all great brands and cars, but today I'm going to talk about the BMW 8 Series, which introduced the new logo in 2020.

BMW 8 Series

In Korea, the official BMW 8 series, not the first edition model, began to come in early 2020. In the case of the first generation of BMW 8 series, it was first released as an E31 model code in 1990 as a Coupe V8 and V12 model, and was discontinued due to sluggish sales until 1999, and sales began again in 2018 as a second generation, and import and sale began in earnest in late 2019 when it was officially launched officially in South Korea. The name is 8 series, but experts say the second generation of 8 series is successor of 6 series. In the case of BMW 8 series coming to Korea, there are 5 models as below.

As many of you know about cars and BMWs, the xDrive is attached to the four-wheel drive vehicle. Also, M is a high-performance version of the car. Coupe is literally a two-door coupe model. In the case of Gran Coupe, it means a model that has four doors but looks as sleek as a coupe. The i of 840i means a gasoline model and d means diesel. BMW sell the first edition every time they introduce a new model. There is literally a difference in options and prices rather than a formal import model. In the case of the 8 series, the difference between the first edition and the official model is in the audio. First edition is equipped with Harman Kardon audio, Merino for seats, and Alcantara for ceilings, but for general models, Bowers & Wilkins audio, Full merino for seats, and Alcantaras for ceilings. The price for general model is also more expensive than the first edition. Let's wrap up with a brief introduction to the 8 series and talk about the 840i xDrive M Sport Gran Coupe among the 8 series.

As you can see from Specifications, you can feel that acceleration from 0-100 km/h and vehicle fuel efficiency are excellent. However, I was a little disappointed when I tried the first edition because the power I felt was weaker than I expected. The personal favorite color of the 840i xDrive M Sport Gran Coupe is the Barcelona Blue exterior, and red and black two-tone interior. At first, when the interior color was red and black, I was worried that it would stand out too much, but when I tried the external Barcelona blue and the internal red and black two-ton vehicle, I thought it was really pretty. For those who are thinking about the BMW 8 series, I think they will think about comparing Mercedes CLS amg or Benz amg gt 4 doors. It's because the price is similar. There is also Porsche Panamera, but I personally don't think it's a competitive model because there are differences in price. I think if a potential buyer chooses BMW 8 series over amg gt 4 door, the main reason would be the sunroof. If there was a sunroof in Benz amg gt 4, many people would choose amg gt 4 door without doubt. In the case of CLS, there may be personal differences, but the design is strange, so I think many people will choose the 8 series instead of CLS and will potentially choose between 8 series and amg gt 4 door. In case of overseas, there is an 850 model between 840 and M8. Personally, I hoped that 850 would come in because M8 would be burdensome in terms of price and 840 would be disappointing in terms of performance, but I think BMW and Mercedes-Benz Korea would not be expected to have demand for 850 and amg gt 4 door 53 models, just as 53 models of amg gt 4 do not come to Korea. The similar specifications of 8 series and amg gt 4 door models released in Korea show that these two models are competitive models.
