With plenty of spare time, you can think of the cheapest option, regardless of travel route or airline.
Let's assume you have travel scheduled from ICN to LAX from April 28th to May 3rd, 2020. In this route, if you want to use a low-cost airline, regardless of whether it is a direct flight or a stopover, you will compare the cost of your flight ticket in the following manner.
Google Flight
Go to Google and search for Google Flight. Click Flights - Google.
If you click on the round trip, economy, route, date, etc. below, you'll find the following amount. Then click Sort by and Price to get the cheapest amount. Click the amount that you want to view the round trip schedule. This will show you the schedule and flight for your return schedule.
As a tip, if you want to travel at the cheapest time, regardless of the travel date, click on the calendar as above to see the flight cost by date. So you can determine whether your itinerary is expensive or inexpensive, and you can travel at the lowest price on your calendar to travel at the cheapest time.
If you want to use only certain routes and specific airlines
Let's assume you have travel scheduled from ICN-LAX from April 28th to May 3rd, 2020. Let's assume that you want to use Korean Air at any cost. If you click on the round trip, economy, route, date, etc. below, you'll find the following amount.
Korean Air
If you search the same schedule/route on Korean Air official website, you will find slight more expensive ticket.
Delta
The reason why I search for Delta is that Korean Air and Delta share the booking for the same flight - Korean Air flight, so even if you buy a plane ticket at a lower price at Delta than Korean Air, you can take the same Korean Air that you book on Korean Air official website.
As you can see the price on Delta, it is cheaper than the one on Google and on Korean Air official website.
