Those planning to travel to Fukuoka may have heard advice from past visitors to find accommodation near Hakata Station.
This is because Hakata Station is a major hub where multiple trains stop, offering convenient access to transportation, shopping, and dining all in one place.
Miyako Hotel Hakata is located at Hakata Station, making it a convenient choice for travelers arriving from the airport and an excellent option for first-time visitors.

As shown on the map above, the hotel is located at Hakata Station. It takes approximately 10 minutes to reach from the airport by taxi or bus.
I arrived at the Miyako Hotel Hakata. The lobby is located on the third floor, and the building's overall condition, along with its interior, felt clean and comfortable rather than overly luxurious.
One downside was that the hotel staffs were not very fluent in English, which I found to be a common experience throughout Fukuoka.
Now, let's take a closer look at the room.
Room & Pool & Sauna
The hotel offers several room types: Superior, Deluxe, Luxury, The Terrace, The Terrace Suite, and the Universal Room.
In fact, the room layouts are quite similar. If you're looking for the most budget-friendly option, the Superior room is a great choice. However, if you prefer a larger space or a better view, opting for a higher-tier room would be ideal.
Superior Twin Room
When I think of a typical Japanese hotel, I imagine small rooms similar to those in New York City. However, I was pleasantly surprised by Miyako Hotel Hakata, as the rooms were exceptionally spacious from the start.
Room condition was very fine, and I was very satisfied.
Bathroom was quite spacious, so I liked it.
Pool & SPA Lucida
Personally, I really enjoyed the Spa. It featured a sauna and washing areas similar to a public bath, making it a space that many people would appreciate.
Upon entering the Spa, you can request free water, and amenities such as shampoo, body wash, conditioner, facial cleanser, and lotion are readily available inside.
The Ritz-Carlton, Fukuoka
If you’re looking for a more luxurious experience and have the budget for it, I highly recommend The Ritz-Carlton Fukuoka.

The hotel is a bit farther from the airport and Hakata Station, but in terms of views, luxury, and overall condition, it is the best in Fukuoka. The starting price for the most affordable room is around US$1,000 per night.
Summary: For first-time visitors to Fukuoka, I highly recommend Miyako Hotel Hakata. Whether you're traveling alone, with a friend, or with family, this hotel is sure to provide a satisfying stay. Overall, I was very pleased with both the location and the hotel's condition. Altough downside of the hotel was not having fitness center, personally, I would rate it a perfect 5 out of 5.
